The Wayne State Divine Plaza is a commemorative space that celebrations the legacy and future of the historically African American fraternities and sororities on campus. JIMA Studio (partnered with Quinn Evans Architects) was selected to create this space in such a way that memorializes and informs visitors of the founding dates and goals of the 9 associated organizations while acting as a personal refuge for organization members as well. The final concept includes a central plateau area for convening that anchors the 9 totems and supportive landscape.
